LAS VEGAS, Dec. 29, 2017 – XDynamics is proud to introduce Evolve, the world’s first consumer drone with a patent-awarded dual-screen remote controller and an incredibly advanced Smart Pilot System (SPS). The Evolve will empower users of all kinds with industry-grade features and functionality at their fingertips. XDynamics will showcase its’ high-end consumer drones at CES 2018 in Las Vegas, January 9th through 12th.
Inside the world’s first dual-screen drone controller is our advanced Smart Pilot System (SPS). An album manager to view, organize, sort, rename and caption aerial media files at will. Users can enhance images quickly and easily with filters and effects, then upload straight to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter without having to copy photos from one device to another. The SPS also features an alert center with clear and easy-to-read flight status indicators and flight modes which allow you to take selfies while the drone follows you or create a planned route for the drone to fly unassisted. Path planner selects multiple waypoints by locations, altitudes and directions which allow the Evolve to fly along by itself. The map preloader saves and names locations of interest offline, to view once airborne.
Aerial photography and video with XDynamics Evolve begins at your fingertips. At XDynamics we know that the amount of information we can access during flight leads to greater situational awareness while in the air and a safer flight. Evolve’s dual screens include a 7-inch viewfinder and a 5-inch multi-touch control panel. Both screens are easily visible in bright sunlight with 2 times the brightness of ordinary smartphone screens. A minimalistic approach without compromising function can be seen in the foldable dual-screen, with a button and stick layout that keep ergonomics in mind. Flight is intuitive drawing inspiration from game consoles and high-end controllers.
The hardware inside the dual-screen remote to support these features and functionality include a 64-bit quad-core CPU, a dedicated GPU, 4GB DDR3 RAM and Android OS. The Evolve comes with a GPS module, Inertial Measurement Unit sensors, Micro-SD card slot, USB port and micro video-out port. These allow for add-ons including additional storage, FPV goggles and VR headsets.
The Evolve delivers incredible wireless live view performance with 1080p high definition video at 60fps and transmission latency below 10 milliseconds. With zero latency transmission, filmmakers can monitor framing and composition in real-time and never miss a critical shot. It is ideal for commercial, TV and film production, infrastructure inspection and other applications that require delay-free control of the aerial camera.
XDynamics’ Evolve is a quadcopter with a monocoque design constructed of carbon fiber. We integrated the body and the chassis into a single carbon fiber unit. In addition to a premium touch and feel, it provides better resistance to impact, stronger structural stability, improved flight dynamics and is stronger and lighter than competing materials.
Our camera system is equipped with 21mm f/2.8 lens, Sony CMOS image sensor, effective pixels of 12.4M and supported by a 3-axis gimbal stabilizer. With this, the Evolve records smooth high resolution 4K video at 24fps, 2.7K at 60fps, 1080p at 120fps and 720p at 240fps. It supports RAW image file output (DNG format) and records video at 60Mbit/s.
In addition to the 4K camera, the universal mount supports a mirrorless interchangeable lens camera and panoramic camera, respectively supported by their own 3-axis gimbals. Set-up time for the additional cameras is less than 3 seconds without tools thanks to the patented quick release gimbal adapter.
Evolve’s ultra precise positioning system combines algorithms and a comprehensive suite of positioning tools. A GNSS module along with advanced optical flow and LiDAR sensors receive data from satellites around the world to develop multi-spectrum images. The Evolve provides better position tracking capabilities with higher precision than drones with ultrasonic and regular visual sensors.
XDynamics’ Evolve with 4K camera will be available in Q1 2018. It will make its official debut at CES 2018 in Booth MP26427 in South Hall 2 in the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC). Both the mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera and panoramic camera will be available in Q3 2018.
