As the future of Drones keeps a fast paced development. Some drones are already equipped with AI Drone capabilities and this is what we want to give you a quick glimpse of what these capabilities are and most important what they can solve as solutions.
Ai Drone and the autonomous First Developments. This is what already exists.
An AI drone, also known as an autonomous drone, is a drone that can operate without human intervention. It is equipped with artificial intelligence technology that allows it to perform tasks such as navigation, obstacle avoidance, and image recognition without the need for direct human control.
AI drones have a wide range of potential applications, including aerial photography, search and rescue missions, surveying, and monitoring of agricultural crops and wildlife populations. They can be programmed to follow predetermined flight paths, adjust their speed and altitude based on changing conditions, and even make decisions on their own based on data collected by their sensors.
One of the key benefits of AI drones is that they can operate in environments that are dangerous or difficult for humans to access. For example, they can be used to explore disaster zones, inspect oil rigs or wind turbines, or survey remote wilderness areas.
However, the use of AI drones also raises concerns about privacy, security, and safety. As the technology continues to evolve, it will be important to develop regulations and guidelines to ensure that AI drones are used in a responsible and ethical manner.
AI Drone – This is the developing future.
In the previous paragraph we wrote a quick overview of what the AI Drone already have developed in some platforms. These AI capabilities are directly related to the aircraft capability of flying by itself or programmed under certains conditions. Now we want to bring you the on development ideas not only related to the aircraft but to it’s camera and other sensors that will integrate the platform and give more decision making to the robot as it is capable of using machine learning and Big Data to feed a more complete solution.
Pixel Based AI Drone.
As first and most common sensor we should start talking about the Camera, a base CMOS sensor will capture motion and still images at a minimum rate of 30 FPS, higher in some other camera setups, like the Evolve2 on 240FPS ( Frames per Second) on Full HD Resolution or 120 FPS on a 4K Resolution.
The higher the resolution and the FPS the more accurate the AI system will be. All pixel based recognition system are onboarding the Drones to Track, Follow, Recognize and trigger specific events on a more automated solution platform.
Pixel Based AI
Pixel-based AI, also known as pixel-wise segmentation or dense prediction, is a type of artificial intelligence technique used in image analysis and computer vision tasks. Pixel-based AI focuses on analyzing individual pixels within an image to make more accurate predictions and segmentations.
In pixel-based AI, each pixel in an image is treated as a separate unit and analyzed based on its color, brightness, and other features. The goal is to assign each pixel to a specific class or category, such as object, background, or texture. This type of analysis is useful for tasks such as object detection, image segmentation, and semantic labeling.
One of the key advantages of pixel-based AI is its ability to produce highly detailed and accurate results. Because each pixel is analyzed individually, the model can take into account subtle variations in color and texture that might be missed by other types of image analysis techniques.
Pixel-based AI is often used in applications such as medical image analysis, where accurate segmentation of organs and tissues is crucial for diagnosis and treatment. It is also used in autonomous vehicles, where accurate detection and segmentation of objects in the environment is necessary for safe operation.
However, pixel-based AI can be computationally intensive and requires large amounts of data to train the model. As such, it is often used in combination with other AI techniques, such as convolutional neural networks, to improve performance and reduce computational complexity.
Car Tracking on Evolve2: The First Development.
As the industry is always developing, Xdynamics already developed and it is on test phase (Feb/2023) the double AI on Evolve2. Double because there are two basics task we demonstrate on the video below. First, it only recognizes vehicles on the scene, second it tracks the vehicle showing and taking photos of the subject as it moves. This feature can be used to recognize vehicles in a not permitted area and trigger an alert to the COC ( Command Operation Center) in a survaillance mode.
The main idea is to use this robot, drone+AI, to function as a reliable and wide view guard to specific survaiallance tasks on a day by day basis.
Counting people, traffic, measuring density, doing facial recognition and database comparisons are only the tip of the iceberg of many AI developments yet to come. What are your toughts about it? Give us your feedback by commenting this post.
